The LDM42PN-S2, featuring two Ethernet ports and S2 redundancy, is now available.
As part of a customer project, the LDM42 sensor family has grown. The newest member is the LDM42PN-S2. This version implements the transition to the latest Profinet standard. At the same time, the connection panel has been expanded to include an additional Ethernet port. An internal switch connects both ports and, for the first time, enables daisy-chain wiring from sensor to sensor instead of the traditional star topology with a central switch or router. In addition, the system now offers the ability to set up high-availability networks with S2 redundancy, in which a second Profinet master is maintained as a backup in case the primary master fails.
The new generation of the Profinet interface operates many times faster and offers a whole range of new features. Thanks to the use of a new processor for communication, Web and FTP servers can now be operated in parallel with Profinet communication without any loss of performance.
The new LDM42PN-S2 is, of course, also available with an integrated heater and pressure equalization element. The form factor and connection types remain unchanged, so the entire range of accessories can continue to be used.
